Draft. An amber beer with a creamy orangey head. The aroma is very hoppy giving it notes of grass, as well as light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet and malty, with notes of caramel, hops, and flowers, leading to a very dry bitter and hoppy finish.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Great hoppy British style beer. Pours a clear light amber an off-white head and lacing that sticks to the glass like glue. aroma is spicy, hoppy and some caramel and bready malts. Taste is biscuity with caramel and quite a bit of sticky hops. Smooth mouthfeel with corresponding carbonation.

On tap. This is a pretty standard beer, but it’s well made. Pours a clear light amber with fizzy white head. Citrus, piney hops, with a nice malt background, a little bit of caramel and biscuits. A small hint of spice. Easy to drink.

Draft @ Stone Bistro. Pours a dense, clear, bright ruby-amber color; off-white head with excellent retention and mixed-bubbled lacing; great-looking pour. Solid amounts of earthy hops and biscuity notes in the aroma; balanced nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lively carbonation; dried red fruits, biscuity malts, and a dense earthy English-style bitterness; tasty, lively mouthfeel, with a solid, fruity malt core; excellent bitter. Medium finish: toasty, biscuity malts and lingering bitterness; very nicely toasty throughout.

On tap at the brewery, in a sampler. A honey/ light amber color with a small white head. Clear. Aroma is hoppy, a little toasty. Flavor is hoppy and bitter like an IPA but the malt presence is there, a little toasty biscuit. Clean and drinkable. Don’t expect this to be citrusy like many American IPAs. Still clean and drinkable, but with a little more malt character without being sweet.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes slowly. Spotty lacing is evident. Toasted malt and caramel in the nose, with a touch of hops. Medium, smooth body with flavors of burnt malt and caramel, along with some mildly spiced hops. The finish is roasty with a caramel malt aftertaste. Above average overall.
