| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2008 On-tap at PPCB yesterday. Pours a orange/copper color with a creamy white head and good lace. Smells of earthy malts, not too sweet, just earthy. Tastes dry, malty, earthy and a bit caramelly. Not that bitter I guess, but not sweet either for a malty beer. Medium body, crisp carbonation. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA

The aroma seems like it is Phoenix hops. Rich and catty. Reminds me of Weyerbacher’s Eleven Phoenix hopped beer. The flavor is hoppy with a nice pale grain that shines through. Bitter grassy and pine hops. Creamy, nicely bitter, not oily. Grains leave a dustiness. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA
