Had on cask at pizzaport-----this pours a hazy golden hue with a small off-white head. Aromas of fresh hops, pine, caramel, and a little brwon sugar. The flavor is amazing...almost more like a good double IPA with a fresh hops flavor. I will have to try on tap, because on cask, my ratings are beyond most.

Deep orange color. Aroma is malty. A full-bodied Barleywine. Malty and hoppy and sweet. Complex mix of flavors. Some alcohol bite at 9.8%. Very smooth. Nicely balanced. Slight smokiness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This was smoked up the ass. Had a rich amber brown color to it and it gave a moderate amount of white head. Smells like an onslaught of alcohol and spices with some hops. Tastes respectably good. Great thick murky and malty with the smoothest finish of any barleywine i have had.

GABF 2003: Clear orange with a large white head. Huge pine aroma, oily/syrupy mouthfeel, starts off lightly bitter and ends sweet. Long solid aftertaste.

a very nice, lighter colored barleywine. seems to vary vastly from batch to batch, but after the initial oversweet, syrupy hoppiness goes away, a very good beer

This barley wine pours with a deep amber body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aromais sweet and malty with a nice grapefruity hop note and hints of caramel and a fruity note. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty laced with fruity hop notes, some caramel, a touch of alcohol and fruit. Full bodied, relatively smooth and slightly warming.

Creamy texture and flavor, comforting and soothing with its maltiness and high alcohol content. Mild bitterness in the finish.

Sampled @ Strong Ale Fest San Diego

The beer pours a somewhat hazy deep orange with a modest head that is semi-creamy in texture and the color a light tan with a decent covering of lace. Nose is fusel alcohol, sweet malt, light bit of earthiness also noticed, and start is quite sweet, nicely malted and the top moderate in feel. Finish is stern in its acidity with the hops dynamically spicy; dry but somewhat sweet aftertaste, a decent a decent representative to the style and the 10.2 ABV does warm the tummy.
