On tap at PP Cbad at 4.0 bitter. "Description: 4% english-style pale ale" OK, doubleo, thanks for robbing me of entering a new beer in the database. Yellow amber color. Wispy tap head. Lots of strange bitterness. All early boil, almost tannic. Low hop aroma.
Earlier Rating: 8/22/2009 Total Score: 3.3
On tap at PP Cbad. Yellow orange color. Beautiful creamy offwhite head, like it’s on nitro, but not. Very grassy earthy early boil bitterness. Somewhat easy to drink. No hop aroma. A little bit medicinal.

On-tap at PP C’Bad. First it was named 4.0 Bitter, then it was named Bitchin’ Bitter and now its named Borough Market Bitter... Pours clear amber with a thin white head, good lace. Smells cereal malty with some slight dishtowel and a hint of hops. Tastes crisp and light citrusy hoppy with a cereal malt and nice hop aftertaste. Medium body, good carbonation.

On tap at PIzza Port Carlsbad, 7/9/09. Pours clear orange, little head. Nothing spectacular about the mild spiced citrus aroma. Taste is completely void at first, then a very long bitter finish. It’s what it aspires to be.

From tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours clear and golden deep amber to orange with a small white head. Aroma is vague hoppy. Smooth hoppy fruity flavoured. Mild orange to apple fruity notes. Medium dry and bitter flavoured into a smooth and crisp hoppy finish. Smooth.

Draft at Carlsbad. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has strong notes of hops, lending it notes of spices and citrus fruits, as well as notes of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and hops, lending it light notes of spices, leading to an OK bitter finish. Solid, but not too exciting.

On tap at PP Carlsbad. Light amber/gold pour, white head. Light beer, malty, some hops, bread, caramel, and apple. Refreshing, but completely uninteresting.

On tap at Stone. Pours with a large white head over a clear, harvest gold body with great lace. Aroma of orange, bread and caramel. Taste is toast, grain/corn, light hop bitterness (early edition to the boil), light orange and some apricot. Strong carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel. 647314
Re-rate on tap at San-Clemente. Some how I stick within a point of my original numbers, I would have rated this a 0.1 lower...well a 0.05 in my notes, whatever. Pours a light bronze-yellow body with a white head and great lace. Aroma is orange twang, bread and caramel. Taste is a lot of hop for a bitter. Citrus and earthy with some bread. Bubbly.
