Commercial Description:
Light in color and body, this beer is brewed at both Pizza Port locations. A little heavier in alcohol than the Carlsbad Cream Ale, we use only the best California Honey to produce a subtle aroma and flavor in the finished product.

On tap at Solana Beach. Pours light gold with thin white head. Sweet aroma. Not much honey in the flavor. Smooth on the palate with little hop bitterness.

Tap at Carlsbad location. Light grassy aroma with mild sweet notes in the nose. Transparent yellow color with a small white head. Malty, carbonated, turning more malty and sweet to finish. Decent body. Hints of honey a detected barely. Not shabby for the style.

Tap @ Solana. Slightly darker and a bit more golden compared to the cardiff cream. Semi sweet. Unremarkable flavor but not bad just weak as hell. If it was free I could put a 1/2 gal down w a pizza. Tourist/mainstreamer delight I’m sure.

Golden and lightly hazed with a small white head. Sweet malty/honey aroma with a bit of soap and herbs. Malty and sweet, slightly hoppy. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth.

Hazy yellowy appearance. Fruity berry aroma. Fairly dry grainy palate, honey sweetness lingers in the finish.

Draught at Pizza Port (Carlsbad), California.
Clear yellow beer with a white head. Mild sweet aroma with honey and grass tones. Pilsner malt and grassy notes in the flavor. Rather thin and not that interesting.

(Draft: Pizza Port in Solana Beach, CA) Yuck! This is awful! Lightly sweet with some mild honey, but this is a fairly bitter brew, though it’s not hoppy; The bitterness is unpleasant and it really seems out of place; Light bodied, but the bitterness just feels harsh on the palate; Sweet, light honey nose; Pale gold in color; Whitish head fades to a rim fairly quickly and a sprinkling of sawdust on top; Some patchy lacing

I suppose it’s good for what it’s trying to be: a light and easy drinking ale. Almost no flavor whatsoever, like an American premium. More flavor than that, but still very light and not my kind of thing. Had trouble finishing it.
