Commercial Description:
Light in color and body, this beer is brewed at both Pizza Port locations. A little heavier in alcohol than the Carlsbad Cream Ale, we use only the best California Honey to produce a subtle aroma and flavor in the finished product.

Draft in Carlsbad. A golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of straw and citrus. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of honey, medium notes of malt, and lighter notes of caramel and citrus. The body is light.

On tap. Clear yellow with a white head. Lightly sweet aroma of malt and perhaps - if you insist - a little honey. Medium body, malty with some sweetness and perhaps a whiff of sulphur. Hardly any bitterness. 060709

From tap at Carlsbad. Pours clear and golden yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet and of light honey. Light herbal honey touch in the flavour to a nice sweet malty base flavour. Light spiced hoppy too. Lingering sweet honey finish with a light hops bitterness.

Draft... RBSG ‘08... Clear, lightly golden ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Great retention. Restrained, grainy, biscuity nose with peppery hops. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Tastes like honey... a little too sweet and grainy for me. Finishes sweet with just a touch of metallic bitterness.

Draught at Pizza Port Carlsbad
Pours a copper gold color with a thin layer of head and moderate lacing. The nose is lightly herbal with some honey and a light earthy hop nose; some light biscuity malts. The flavor is clean and herbal with more columbus like hops. Nice and balanced. Yum.

Tap @ Carlsbad: Clear light amber color. Sweet malty aroma. Some earthiness. Flavor was sweet. Light fruitiness. I guess the earthiness could have been some of the honey. I do like that PP makes a full line up of beers to appeal to everybody.

Poured light, bright, kinda pissy yellow with a short, sticky cap of white head. The aroma picked up honey upfront with pale malts and floral notes not far behind.. quite sweet. The flavor was sweet overall with pale malts and honey again.. dry grassy bitterness.. finished with unpleasant artificially-sweet honey. Light-bodied and dry (but still too sweet and artificial).. not much carbonation.. didn’t care much for this.
