Tap at Papago BC. Dark brown. Nose of thick dark fruit, charcoal. Flavor of chocolate, dark fruit, alcohol, roast. A bit hot for my taste, but very unique. The stoutiest quad I’ve ever had.

Clear copper with a tan head. Caramel and sweet spice aroma. Medium body. Sharp caramel spicy flavor with soggy bread and rubbing alcohol. Not great. Draft@ Pizza Port Carlsbad.

Draught at Boulder Strong Ale Festival. Pours clear tawny with a small, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, toffee, bread), light hops (grass), heavy yeast (dough, earth) with notes of banana, dates, vanilla, and brown sugar. Full bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Draught, Boulder Strong Ale Festival. Cherrywood red color. Banana, dark red fruit, plum and dried cherry notes in the nose. Flavor has some depth and complexity to it, with hints of caramel, raisin and plum juice. Respectable, but basic example. My high score is because I find even average 11% quads very tasty.

Sticky sweet fruit salad flavor up front, cloying port/plum/grape/caramel and astringent dry oak on the back. Sweet, simple, flimsy body.

On tap at Boulder Strong Ale Fest poured a clear dark reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, fruittiness, spice and light toffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, dark fruit, light spice and light toffee with a smooth warming lingering lightly sweet fruity finish.

Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Dark brown color with red shades. Strong body, good mix of caramel and chocolate, limited sweetness, low bitterness, pleasant warmth. On the simple side.

Crushed with Jakebra at BSAF. Ooh, dark fruits. Lots of plum, grape, raisins. Very nice. Great example of the style. It’s no Trap 10 or Westy 12, but it stands its ground.
