The nose is light with some citrusy hops and a touch of pale malt. A lightly sweet flavor with a bit of doughy creamy malt finish. Decent cream ale without any real negative deterants. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 11, 2007 On tap at Port Carlsblad. Another required component of a big lineup of 39 taps, though not needed, it’s a transition beer. Bit of lace, expected a good head but not so. Not too creamy although mouthfeel was fine, and in fact was not too different than their Mexican lager.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 12, 2007 Updated: Apr 16, 2007On tap at Port Carlsbad. Another not required component of a big lineup of 39 taps, though not needed, it’s a beer for those with a palate. Moderate lace, and as expected a well-retained head. Not too creamy, since cream ales have nothing to do with "creaminess", and a lovely engaging, yet light mouthfeel. Quite different than the amigo lager, with more pale malt and lightly citric hops, as opposed to more traditional lager/european hops. Softer yeast presence with just a hint of fruitiness, as opposed to a lager yeast. Really nicely attenuated, very flavorful and lacking of any flaws. SledgeJr (2962), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
