Reed’s Wee Heavy on tap at PP Carlsbad. Dark amber color. Creamy off-white head. Looks great. Some malty melanoidins in the aroma. A little sweet. I like it.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours ruby brown with clear edges. Some carbonation and a light tan ring of head. Medium strength aroma of brown sugar and raisin. Sweet, sugary flavor with notes of plum and caramel toffee. Lingering toasty finish and a full-bodied palate. Alcohol content is quite well hidden, but it will wreck your head after a couple of pints.

Tap at Carlsbad. Pours a brownish amber with a medium creamy off white head that laced. Aroma of dark fruits, toffee, nuts and molasses. Flavor of the same. Nice and dry with some lingering smokey notes.

Draft @ Pizza Port - Carlsbad, labeled as "Reed’s Wee Heavy." Pours a dark, clear reddish-brown color; light-tan head with solid fine-bubbled lacing. Good amounts of red fruits, dried dark fruits, and brown sugar; dense, reserved sweetness. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, dense dried dark fruits, brown sugar, and caramel upfront; reasonably reserved sweetness; decent, slightly warming scotch ale with a solid core. Lengthy finish: dried fruit, brown sugar, and chewy dark malts; reasonably sweet.
