Pizza Port Carlsbad Ruby Black

On tap at Toronado SD; had no idea what the style was, but glad it was a Baltic Porter, as it is a style I haven’t had too much of yet. Color was a dark brown to black with a light brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, toffee and a bit of coffee and sweetness. Flavor was very nice. Roasted, sweet, sugary and a bit chalky. Fruity as well. Very good beer.

On tap at toronado SD. Very dark brown pour, frothy tan head. Dark roasted malts, cherries, chocolate, licorice, nuts, and light coffee. It’s a lager? Easily could be an imp stout. Excellent!

Getting notebook online. Draft at Stone. Pours a flat black. Good dark fruit and coffee nose. Roasted malts, coffee, dark cherries, light licorice flavors. Smooth warm mouth. Read good!

Draught at GABF 2008. Black - offwhite head. Berries, roasted, grainy, honey, licorice, coffee, sweetness, lactic, chocolate, coffee, fruity. Nice.

Draught at GABF 2008. Clear dark brown coloured with a huge beige head. Roasted aroam of coffee, chocolate and nuts. Roasted flavour of chocolate, coffee and nuts with notes of fruits. Roasted finish.

Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty with chocolate and a ton of sweet dark fruit. Roasted malts, chocolate, touch of burnt malts, nuts, and dark fruits make up the flavor profile. Strong alcohol, but a pretty clean finish. Enjoyable brew.

Very fine! On tap at the brewpub. Very nice aroma of dark fruit, which the flavor adds to: coffee, charcoal, roasty malts and milk chocolate, just about in that order. Deep, deep black, thin ring of white head.

Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit, light alcohol and cooked molasses. Flavor comprised of the same notes from the aroma, but with more concentrated alcohol, vanilla, deeper fruit notes and light coffee as well. Very tasty brew.
