| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 20, 2009 2008 Bottle. Pours a flat, muddy reddish brown with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is aged maraschino cherries, like a cherry port wine. Flavor is sweet cherry and oakiness with no detectable bitterness. Body is a bit syrupy. It’s a good brew, but I prefer the lighter bodied domestic sours like Red Poppy and Supplication. lithy (1650), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Sample from a bottle thanks to BeerHawk. Thanks for sharing such a rarity. Dark red-brown to brown with some quick off white head. Aroma is sour cherries and oaken vanilla. Taste is oaky, sweet dark malt, dark fruits and raisins with a lightly tart finish. JohnnyJ (1312), Carlsbad, California, USA

Cherries, tart apple, oak, dark fruits, raisins, and vanilla. Very sour and complex. This is really really good. Definitely one of the best out there. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 31, 2009 2008 Bottle. Poured brown with light red hints and a thin light tan head. Nice cherry, oak, and malt in the aroma that almost made me think I had a glass of merlot instead of beer. The flavor found more cherry with a backing of malts, vanilla, and oak. Medium body, dry, sweet upfront and tart in the end. Fantastic! jrob21 (1263), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 29, 2009 2008 bottle bonused by fordest a while back. Been holding on to this for some time and figured my birthday and marathon finish were a good time to crack it. Pour is a brownish/reddish color with some yeast floaters that i spooned out. Aroma is pungent sour. Flavor is slightly sweet on the finish and some subtle fruit before then. A faint wood and vanilla flavor lurking back there as well. The sour does not come through to the flavor and there could be a little more carbonation for texture. Other than that though this is a pretty interesting and diverse drink. | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 28, 2009 2008 375ml at Toronado, SD. Pours a nice heavy brown with a decently lacing head. Aroma of tart cherry, dark fruit, wood and vanilla. Flavor is definitely owned by the tart cherry/brett combo with semblances of the wood and vanilla, and as has already been mentioned, there isn’t too much astringency, which allows for a smooth finish and moderate mouthfeel. Fantastic brew that makes for a great sipping nightcap. yobdoog (1431), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

This is awesome Nice sourness and tart cherry flavors along with the right amount of oak. Not too woody and asrtingent. Sweet and smooth. Nice and complex too with hints of toast and vanilla and plus and grape skin. A little prickly and really tastey.
