Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 25, 2006 Dark amber colour. Chewy malt aroma - a little special b maybe? Rich, deep dark fruitiness. Oily, phenolic kind of sahti-like overtones. A really odd dubbel but the sweetness and oiliness is just too much for me.

clear dark red, thin beige head, a touch of lace, slightly sweet rich malt aroma and flavor, nice suggary fruity essence without being too sweet, some nice light spices show up once it warms, a bit of age would really help the fruit to ripen, brewed with Belgian date sugar

jazz88 (2205), San Francisco, California, USA Nov 9, 2006 Tap @ Toronado. A brown amber color. Smooth malty fruit beer. Medium bodied with a semi-sweet raisin like base and a hint of tartness at the finish. Rating from notes. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA Mar 21, 2006 Draft, Dec ’05. Dark brown pour. Sweet fruity aroma - smelled like dates by George. Medium bodied, and full of fruity and spiced flavors. Very nice - I thought the date touches worked very well with the dubbel style. omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 19, 2006 Draught at Toronado, San Francisco. Clear dark brown. Nutmeg aroma. Sweet and lightly raisiny. Full bodied with clean, thick mouthfeel, some almondy yeast character. Low bitterness. Dessertlike - similar to a cinnamon bun with raisins.
