General66 (167), Streator, Illinois, USA Jun 20, 2009 Bomber enjoyed on a warm sunny day. I have heard a lot about Pizza Port and was very excited to see this on the shelf at the liquor store. Pours a hazy golden color with a huge 3.5 finger width white frothy head. The aroma is a bit subtle for a IIPA but is very nice nonetheless. It consists of fresh hops, citrus, malts, and some pine. The taste is an excellent mix of hops, citrus and malt. This is one of the easiest IIPA’s to drink that I have had which is weird with the relatively high alcohol percentage. It finishes with a very pleasant hop bitterness. Overall an exceptional brew! I am excited to try more beer from Port! leems (147), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 19, 2009 A 22oz bottle shared by my coworker, Shawn. Pours an hazy orange with a large foamy white head. The nose was nice citrus hops with a little malt in the background. Flavor was apricot, citrus, pine, and a little sweetness backing it all up. The mouthfeel was nice, medium and left my mouth with a clean taste. BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 19, 2009 Brewed in the USA..... Pours a hazy orange color with a nice foamy white head. The aroma is of citrus, pineapples, malts and hops. Taste like i just liked a pinecone !!! Other flavors are citrus, mild spices and grapefruit. The mouthfeel is medium body with some nice foamy lacing and a lingering hop bitterness that is kind of intense, but still very enjoyable. Another winner from the Port / Lost abbey crew. KnN (714), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Jun 15, 2009 Pours an orange color with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet malt, citrus, grapefruit, a little bit of pine. Flavor is very well balanced. Good citrus hop kick is mellowed by a sweet malt finish with very little bitterness. Really nice Imperial IPA. grandridge (222), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Jun 12, 2009 Aroma is sweet citrus and sticky pine. Flavor is good, pine and resin dominates but citrus and grapefruit also in there. A nice sweet sugary malt in the body of this brew which makes it very drinkable. There is some alcohol warmth though maybe a bit much for a dipa but not overpowering. Aftertaste is bitter which lasts and lasts. A nice brew my only hit would be what I thought last time, is that it’s a little strong for a dipa. I think it would be better served at 9% but really that’s just a minor hit. Madsnp (611), Odense C, Denmark Jun 9, 2009 Bottle. Copper coloured with with a beautiful off white head. Aromas of toffee, lemon, resin, pepper, caramel, pine and vanilla. Flavours of apricot, pear, fruity esters, resin, caramel, warming alcohol, sweet malts, citrus and grapefruit. Full bodied sweet brew with a nice hoppy bitter kick. Well balanced strong beer. kmyers8807 (25), Ohio, USA Jun 8, 2009 Got ahold of a bottle as an extra a trade. Aroma was aw expected from an IPA, the appearance was also surprising strong with a rustic orange or copper color that you couldnt see through. Taste was sweet, and extremely hoppy. The hops might have been a little much for me. Alcohol though, I did like and could taste through the hops. soccer290 (135), Highland Park, Illinois, USA Jun 7, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pizza Port/Port/Lost Abbey is now in Champaign! Very exciting, so I picked up this an Old Viscosity, though I’ll age that a while. Pours a dull copper color with a small off-white head that dies somewhat quickly, leaving little to none. Smells of very strongly of citrus, as well as tons of fresh hops, a little bit of pine, and a bit of malt. Tastes of great citrus flavors, some sugary malt (in the back, and its like honey), and lots of fresh hops. Goes down very smooth (as smooth as a I-IPA can be), and leaves a pleasant sweet taste in your mouth. Fairly strong bodied, though it could be more. A very impressive I-IPA.
