Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Bottle from Beermerchants. Hazy brown, tiny film of a head. Strong aroma. Lots of grapefruity hops in the nose. Plenty of malt to play along with the hoppy kick. Lacks a little extra wow-factor. Clever, but not amazing.

Bomber. Pours an amber color with a thin head. Spotty lacing. Aroma of fragrant floral, citrus and tropical fruit hops in appley malts. Moderate resiny pine and grapefruit hop bitterness cuts into malts which are kind of sweet, but clean. Some chalkiness on the finish. Another great Cali 2IPA.

BottlePours a hazy golden with a good lasting white head. The head is a touch creamy and fails to lace. Has a wonderful hoppy aroma of citrus and pine. Has a good acrbination and an awesome mouthfeel. The hoppiness is alive in the flavor, my tongue is going crazy. Has a medium body. This is blended great and tends to hide the alcohol well. Has a great finish. From opening to finish this is one awesome beer.

Bottle, De Molen. Cloudy orange colour, small white head. Intense aroma of pine hops and grapefruit. Flavour of pineapple, orange and grapefruits. Very bitter and dry. Alcohol well hidden.

22 oz. bottle from South Bay. Pours dark orange, exactly what you would expect from a DIPA. Heavy hop aroma. Notes of pine and fresh grass with some pineapple. Taste is a bit disappointing; more sweet than citrusy. I had hoped for a big pineapple or grapefruit flavor but I’m not getting it. Finish is moderately bitter and very sticky (which I like). Great, but not as great as expected.

Pour is a cloudy orange with no head at all. Aroma is some melon with some clean pine. Flavor starts out sweet then follows with some grapefruit and honey. An abundance of hoppyness is left on the tounge as this goes down. Alcohol is no where to be found which makes it all the more drinkable. A sweet but well made beer.
