Lots o’ hops in the nose. Rather complex on that end. Citrus, resin, pine, pineapple, grapefruit, flowers and grass. Taste is straight hops. Everything imaginable. Delicious. markwise (1175), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

Flavor is a fizzy piney liquid with a bite. This beer bites and backs off leaving the mouth with a nice grapefruit feeling. Double IPA brewed with feeling. HonkeyBra (1319), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2008 I am excited to get this in Chicago. Someone suggested this gave Pliny a run for its money. No, that’s not close. However, it pours a deep amber with a light, off white head. Aroma is spicey, citrusy, with sweet malt and a sugar cookie backbone. Flavor is bitter, with orange rinds mixed into a pastry sweet malt. Very bitter finish. But not unbelievable bitter. No sense of alcohol at all in the beer. This is an Awesome double IPA. presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

A hint of bubble gum. Delicious complex hop soup with a nice complementary malt sweetness. NobleSquirrel (1105), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Mine had little carbonation, which sucks. But, from what I could gather, this is pretty kick ass. Not enough malt in my opinion to hold up the alcohol burn. For me, if you’re pushing the double digits, I need some dry, biscuity malts to prop it up. Other than that, tones of pine, citrus and bitterness. Basically, a bigger, meaner, darker version of Wipe-Out. I need a fresh/carbonated bottle... clingman71 (245), Centerville, Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 2, 2008 Updated: Nov 10, 2009Bottle. Orangish color, thick hop aroma. Huge hop presence throughout. Deep resinous chewy mouthfeel. Plenty of malt carrying the hops, but never getting in the way. Good hop bitterness, not overwhelming though, just consistently delivering hop yumminess, start to finish. Excellent. drjay44 (772), Salida, Colorado, USA

Once initial carbonation is gone, pours a thin head with minimal duration some lacing, over an orangish amber body....nose of resin, pine, malt with a bit of sour yeast....tastes of layers of hop flowing through, ending with sweetness (hop rather than malt)...nice thick chewy mouth feel.
