Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Bomper thanks to Kegbear. Pours a golden orange with a light tan head. Aroma is heavy on the hops with hints of pine, citrus and some malt. Flavor is big with hops and pine with hints of citrus and some sweetness. Alcohol is well hidden for ABV. While it is a hop bomb I found it to have good balance.

22 oz. bottle. Nice big lasting head. But holy crap, this is a potent IDIPA. The alcohol note was overwhelming and this kind of ruins what may be a great beer. Just one of these was all I could handle. Still, I wouldn’t ban it from the rotation.....

Bottle: Courtesy of my Secret Santa, jason...thanks man. Pour was a peach nectar color with a medium-sized cream head and ridiculous lacing. Immediately upon pouring I can tell this is different...must be a West Coast thing, the citrus and hops are not what I typically smell and taste in most IIPA’s. The closest thing I’ve had that smelled like this is Hopslam. Huge grapefruit, peach, nectarine and floral hops are noted in the nose...some pale malts linger but might as well run and hide. This is all about the hops. Medium-full body. A rush of crisp, bitter, citrus-hopped flavors slice and dice their way through my palate. Fantastic brew.

No wonder there is a hop shortage. They’re all in this brew. This is not a hop bomb, it is a thermo-nuclear hop bomb! Pours a nice orange color to a tight 2 finger head that laces nicely. A nose of hops and more hops is no surprise. Very bitting citrus + piny taste smashes all other senses. After a while, at the back, there is actually some good malt backbone that stands up to this huge amount of hops. Nice beer and the 10.5% is hidden by the hops overpowering allure. 90 min + Ruination are better choices but this is pretty damn good. I was looking for a hop fix and almost o’d!

full and sticky with notes of caramel and molasseses. hoppy. citrus, perhaps orange and grapefruit. lots of yeast just chillin in the bottle. similar to the wipeout but more intense more well rounded, its not just a straight hop overdose. balanced. go buy this beer if you can
