Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

This one came from fordest who just about killed my wants list and hop craving with that last box. Anyways, here goes. Holy smokes this one is nice. Great hops, great balance, great looking, what more can you ask for other than big tits but beers don’t come with those. Hops are beautiful soapy, pine, grapefruit kind of hops. Aroma is smooth and fruity. Would like a little more wafting character from my aroma. The finish is gently sweet with some full bodied caramel flavors right before. Very well done by these guys as to be expected.

Bottle. Thanks Hellbilly. Dark orange color with good head. Great hop aroma, apricot, orange, pine/grapefruit and lychee. Taste was similar but more caramel malt; too sugary. Alcohol makes its appearance at the bitter finish. Medium bodied, with some oil/resin on the palate.

Bottle @ WSF 2008. Clear golden with tiny head. Sweet aroma with hoppy and caramel notes. Sweet flavor with caramel, loads of hops and grapefruit notes. Finishes with solid bitterness.

Pours cloudy amber with a nice head. Smells of hops and citrus. Tastes makty, pine, and hoppy (but not over the top. Hides the 10.5 ABV very well. I’m such a sucker for double IPA.

Bottle: Good DIPA. Pours thick with a full head. Not overpowering aroma of hops and citrus. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Amber color with a lasting fluffy near white head. Aroma is pine, floral, peach and grapefruit. Flavour has a bit of a bite. Sweet maltyness balances it out nicely.

Poured a fairly standard copper color with some ruby highlights. The head was off-white, two-fingers tall and produced nice lacing. The aroma is mostly pine and floral hops with some citrus and a whiff of sugary malt. The flavor has more citrus in it along with the pine and floral. Not enough malt balance to be one of the best out there. The mouthfeel was full and the finish was dry as a bone. Enjoyable, just off-balance.

Nice medium orange/hazy color. Love the small hop particles (?) floating around in it. Bold hop aroma citrus - grapefruit. Special thanks to Sparky27 for a wonderful trade. Hides the 10% alcohol well. Can’t get enough.
