douglas88 (1557), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Sep 25, 2009 22oz bottle from my favorite beer store only 4 hours away! College Liquors. Pours a clear amber color with a thick white head and loads of lacing. The aroma is sweet citrus hops, pine, huge alcohol warmth. A massive orange peel and pine flavor, the smoothest of west coast hops, with tons of citrus and some bitterness pushing through the sweet aspects. Something akin to wood and a long bitter citrus finish. Very good. neepsntatties (283), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 24, 2009 Bomber from By The Bottle. Colour... cloudy orange with a moderately thick white head. Nose... crushed conifer needles and squeezed citrus. Palate... smoothly carbonated, sweet yet bitter burst of grapefruit juice and skin, pine wood chips and pitch, nice tempering with malt and a delightfully long finish! A quintessential west coast style Imperial IPA! awiseman01 (318), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Sep 20, 2009 On tap at Johnny Brown’s Dtown SD. Pours a cloudy bright dark orange. Not a strong nose but some hops are evident. This has a very interesting flavor for a DIPA. Sweet hops and floral notes. Some alcohol comes through in a flavor similar to a whiskey or bourbon. Very different and nice. ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 20, 2009 From a bottle at SB&WF. Hazy orange, medium off-white head. Fresh hop aroma with pine needles, apricots, and citrus. Medium bodied and smooth. Wonderful long bitter finish. patrickfannon (274), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a tan, frothy head. Aroma of spice, raisins, hops, and pine. Body is full, with a fantastically smooth finish. No trace of alcohol, and some outrageous lacing. Outstanding IPA. yumyum (118), barrie, Ontario, Canada Sep 16, 2009 my second favourite imp ipa. Did head to head with df90 and ruination. This had the best nose (the citrusy hop sweetness) Great flavour profile. citrus, slightly spicey, and a smooth hoppiness with a nice finish (not overly dry) Scouser (39), Pennsylvania, USA Sep 10, 2009 Orange, gold in colour. Orange, floral, spicy aroma. Orange hoppy flavour. Overall a average beer. thenick (742), North Bellmore, New York, USA Sep 4, 2009 Tap @ Publick House, Brookline, Mass. Pours golden-orange with a fluffy and lingering white head. Aroma is citrus hops with a little malt and caramel thrown in for good measure. Taste is malt and citrus with a hop bitterness so wonderfully typical of West Coast IPA’s. Mouthfeel is much more creamy than your average IPA, but I won’t complain about that.
