Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Bottle. Looks like honey with carbonation (not that viscose, though). Aroma is of hops. Nothing special. What’s special, though is the flavor of hops and grapefruit. Flavor is long and hoppy. Very nice.

Thanks to pollo and drank it at his house. Wow! Pours beautiful amber color with a nice head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Taste of grapefruit well balanced with sweet malts. And the ending almost never ends. Long, long finish.............................

Bottle: pours a murky, brownish-orange with a thin white head, aroma of citrus and hops, taste is hoppy but not overpowering, a bit of citrus and some spice, a bit of the bitter hop aftertaste. Pretty nice DIPA.

Bottle. Nice cloudy orange copper pour with a nice white fluffy head. ARoma of hops, hops, and more hops. Some malt and citrus mixed in. Taste of a huge amount of hops and citrus notes. Nice alcohol burn on the way down. Very good.

Pours burnt orange/copper with a long lasting medium to large offwhite head. Looks good. Man, that aroma is intense. Strong pine, grapefruit, and fresh plants (snapdragons? something like that) with an occasional split second of malt showing up on the nose, but never long enough to pinpoint. Flavor is all hops with bitter grapefruit/citrus, pine, floral, and the slightest bit of toasty brown sugar but only if you "chew" the beer a bit. Finishes earthy and bitter, balancing a fairly intense char sensation and the nice hop flavors pretty. Drinkable creamy texture with medium carbonation and barely any noticable heat. The lack of malt bothers me in the mouthfeel and flavor though, but some people are gonna be fond of that. The aroma certainly kicks ass, but I want a bit more sweetness.
