skibumphishead (180), USA Jan 10, 2008 I had this one last night with Brie. It is great to be working down the street from Table and Vine (Town and Country is what I still call it.) The first sip was too strong for me because I have not had a double IPA in a while. This beer was all hops. It was not too thick and heavy like most doubleIPAs, it was light and this made it easy to pay attention to the potent citrus and ganja flavors that were stinging my tongue. I am def going back to table and vine tomorrow to pick up one more dank beer for the weekend. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jan 9, 2008 Bottle: Pours a mild copper with a thick sandy head. Nice lacing. Aroma is a simple medley of citrus and florals with bits of caramel. Flavor is wrapped in hops; citrus, floral, and hints of pine. Nice sweet maltiness to back up the bitters in the tail. Simple, elegant, and overall magnificent. One of my new favorites. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA Jan 8, 2008 sweet juicy malt and loads and loads of citrus. Tangerine and big time grapefruit. Light and fresh. Finishes into a light resin and bitterness. Bitterness is soft but expansive, keeping the sweetness perfectly in check. Mouthfeel is OK, but leaves something wanting. Doesn’t fill the mouth the way it could, but that’s really the only flaw I can find. Alcohol is undetectable, despite being 10+. IIPAs don’t get much better. Complex, balanced and explosive.
emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jan 7, 2008 Pours a hazy golden brew with a creamy golden head. The aroma is sweet, hoppy, malty, some caramel. This bottle sat for a little while before being consumed and some of the hops may have faded. The flavor is rich, bitter, alcohol, caramel, grapefruit peel. The palate was rich and waxy. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jan 7, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Dark Elf. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of flowers, biscuits, roses, some citrus. Taste combines resiny bitterness and orange sweetness with a dry malt character. Alcohol is well hidden. Good, but I don’t get the inflated scores on this one. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 6, 2008 Pours a light amber body with nice offwhite frothy head. Aroma is rich of citruc fruit, pine, sandlewood, allspice and some earthy tones. Flavour is rich and hoppy but nicely balanced with sweet malts. Ends with a nice dry bitter touch. A very solid DIPA. ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA Jan 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with soapy white head. Aroma of piney floral hops. Big hop is balanced with chewy malt. Finishes very bitter. I know everyone can make a big hop beer these days, but I really like this brewery. Good beer. CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain Jan 3, 2008 This one was a bit too sticky as an DIPA for me. Nice strong hopped, obviously, aroma with pines overwhelming the citrus. Beautiful copper gold color. Taste was similarly nice with good malt balance, surprisingly enough. Not worth the $9 for a 22oz bottle however.
