Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Strong resin hop aroma. Also floral hop. Maybe some light citrus hop. Lots of hop. Hazy orange gold color with a white head that laced strangely. Medium to full body with caramel malt and lots of different hop. It is definitely malty, and it is surely well balanced. I can feel evergreen in my throat. The malt tends to slip away and the hop turns rather piney. Incredibly awesome.

Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting: Poured a copper amber color with a bubbly head. The aroma was that of pine and hops. The taste was very lively and the hops made me want more. I was super impressed with this IIPA!

22 oz. bottle from Zinister, shared with tjthresh. Pour is hazy blood orange with a one inch slightly off white head. Aroma of grapefruit rind and some candy citrus (those little orange slice candies). Taste is BIG grapefruit juice. Just a blast of grapefruit hop that is bitter all the way from start to finish. The sweetness also exists in the taste, though it is more like ripe oranges here, not really candy sweetness. The aftertaste is long, and again, really reminiscent of grapefruit juice. Overall an interesting one to try, but a bit one dimensional for me. Thanks for sending this one Mike!

Pungent hoppy aroma. Golden orange color with a creamy head. Strong pineapple hops flavors. Slight waxy flavor. Creamy and well carbonated. Lots of pineapple. Bitter duration. Good. Thanks Pepsican.

Poured a murky orange with a thin white head. Grapefruit and hops in the nose. Pine, grapefruit, hops, caramel (barely), and more hops. Finished syrupy but not overly bitter/bitey. I could session this and figured it was a few abv% below what it is. Shared among many, thanks Bockeyhorsey!

Bottled sample via oakbluff. Orange in colour with moderate carbonation and some floaties. Aromas of candied citrus fruit (orange + grapefriit), mangoes, caramel, and pine. In the mouth, it strikes an intersting balance between some pretty intense citrus hop flavors and some fairly rich/sweet caramel and pale malt flavors. A long bitter finish. Good stuff, but not quite exceptional.
