Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Growler @ DLD thanks to bgburdman: Poured a hazy copper color with an off white head. Aroma loads of citrusy grapefruit hops, some lemon, pine, and a caramel background. Flavor, some pale bready malts up front with a delightful citrus and piny kick on the end. Nice bitterness, great stuff.

Pours an amber color with a big lasting creamy head. Bottle conditioned haziness. Smell is nicely hoppy with mostly pine to me. Strong nose and taste. Flavor is of crisp sharp, biting, spicy hops. Somewhat tingly and spicy almost like some fresh hop beers. Well carbonated but still a rich mouthfeel. Mostly flavors of Pine and resin, and I didn’t get a lot of refreshing citrusy or floral flavors at all. Perhaps a touch too bitter for what I was looking for on this particular night. Still really nice but drinkability wasn’t as good as on some DIPAs.

Bottle. Orange-brown in colour with a beige coloured head. The aroma was of powerful citrus hops, lots of oranges, earthy malts. The flavour was quite hoppy, some caramel malt, slight sweetness and some alcohol. Bitter, chewy mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. The finishes lingers on for a while. Almost unbalanced but the malt saved this beer.

Tap, O’Briens. Pours a medium ruby color. No head at all. Aroma is a little hoppy with some malt along with hints of brandy. Very low carbonation. Lots of malt and dark fruits up front. Mostly malty and vinous up front. The hop bitterness doesn’t seem to really come into until the end of this brew. It becomes a little too sweet towards the end of the pint. Alcohol is well hidden though.

On tap at the brewery. Slightly hazed ornge pour with a creamy head. A hard hop aroma. A very sweet flavor that finishes with a hop profile that is kick ass. Carbonation is great mouthfeel is solid. A soldi beer all round. A beer that really got my attention upon tasting. I had 3 samples just to make sure that I liked it as much as I did. And I did!!!!! Excellent offering.

22 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquor - Pours a clear copper color with a one finger thick off white head. Nice lacing. Soft, tiny bubble carbonation. Has a wonderful sweet floral, pine, and citrus hop aroma! Flavor is loaded with hops and a nice bit of caramel malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy. Alcohol is noticeable toward the finish. Medium to full body. A fantastic beer.
