Murky orange and brown with a white head.
Aroma is toffee and toast. Herbs and pine.
Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice. Not a whole lot more.
Medium body. High carbonatioin. Dry finish.
Better than I remember, but still not all that.
A couple of samples at the GABF 06. Amber with a small head. The nose comes across as just a mish mash of funk. Dirty even. Flavor is more of the same. Seemed kind of flimsy to me. Big let down. blipp (1764), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 26, 2009 Bottle from Jamvin23. Pours bright unclear orange with an off white head. Fresh hoppy aroma with citrus and pine notes and a definite caramel malt note. The flavor is pretty well balanced, with a nice spicy and citric hop profile and a solid caramel malt sweetness. Nice lingering grassy hop bitterness. Really good. tarjei (1762), Bryne, Norway
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2009 65 cl bottle at my garage-tasting May 8th. Light amber color, nice off-white head. Aroma is pine hops and malt - lovely! Flavor is malty, but most of all hops. The bitterness and the alcohol makes it a bit unbalanced, but still a very fine beer. sneagrams3 (1762), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Layer of white head. Citrus grassy petrol aromas. Grainy and bready. Big fresh bitter piney flavor. Big alcohol note. Totally bitter with a rolling hop palate. Rye bitterness. Citrus with a subtle sweet and tart flavor. Dry with a long finish. Lingering bitterness. Mild fruit notes. Fresh and really nice. Thanks Ric! Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 3, 2004 GABF 2004. Damn fine Cascade hop aroma, approching LaConner style. Sweet, hoppy taste. Nice and full bodied. Alcohol highlights the finish. Great hop aftertaste. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2003 A kinda of dirtty amber color to it. A powerful citrus rush combined with the high alcohol; makes for a enjoyable brew. Above average, but lacks greatness. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 26, 2006 6th annual Bistro IIPA fest. Bitter wet hop aroma that is somewhat dry with hemp notes; nice. Quite dark in color with a small, off-white ring and excellent lace. Best of the three Pizza Port IIPAs I had at this fest. Strong alcohol profile. Unbelievable excellent and well-balanced. Next time I’m in San Diego, I WILL be tracking this down. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Aroma is a simple medley of citrus and florals with bits of caramel. Flavor is wrapped in hops; citrus, floral, and hints of pine. Nice sweet maltiness to back up the bitters in the tail. Simple, elegant, and overall magnificent. One of my new favorites.
