Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

This is a profound experience. Incredible aroma. Very nice hops. Strong flavors. For someone like me, the Pizza Port mystique has been allusive. And when I got my chance to taste, the hype lived up to its reputation. This is a powerful IPA without any sense of over powering sweet aftertaste. Lovely.

Deep red-brown hue is slightly murky. HUGE creamy tan head. Big meaty hop aroma. Orange, lemon, grapefruit, pine, spruce. Just...yes. Nice bread and biscuit background. White grapes, dough, peaches. Very good. Heavily sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter flavor. Moderately sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter finish. Delicious. Medium-full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. *happy* Fnord!

25.7 oz - Hop blast hits the nose with flowery resin. Carmel color brew with huge cream colored head that stuck around for a while then dissapates to leave great lacing. Taste is hops of course, sticky resin filed mouth that is surprisingly mild for what the aroma promises. This isn’t a bad thing since it makes the brew very smooth and drinkable.

I was expecting this beer to come a get me, 15 IBU off scale, wow. Then I got a whiff of the hops, smelled right, I fastened my seatbelt. Dark colored, muddy brown, I don't know what that means. I put the key in the ignition, and squirrel ran out from under the hood, that was it. Flavor was okay, but not that memorable. Pretty sweet actually. Finish was moderately bitter and sweet. Thanks TAR for these race tickets.

22oz bottle. Cloudy copper/amber pour with a thin off-white head. Very crisp hop aroma with a bit of malt. Incredibly citrusy hop flavor with malt and some alcohol in the finish. I expected this to be good, but it was incredible.

A solid 4. Greate rich gold, small which head, lots of lacing, lovely. Nose announces lots and lots of hops. Maybe unfocused ... hard for me to be sure which hops were present, because, of course, almost all of them were. Taste is balanced malt, caramel, pine tar and citrus hops beyond belief, nice long bitter finish. This is the kind of beer I really like. Nit picking that kept it from going over a 4 — maybe a smaller range of hops would have produced better focus, and I prefer a beer at less than 10.5% alcohol. Hard to consider this a session beer, or even a safe beer with a long slow barbecue dinner. Nice, very nice.

Hazy amber pour with nice creamy golden head. Sweet, hoppy, malty nose. Aromas of tropical fruits such as mangos and papaya. Flavor showed bitter hops, caramel, grapefruit peel, and present alcohol. Waxy palate. Good stuff.
