| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2004 This beer poured without any carbonation. What little was there lended to a few small bubbles in the glass. The aroma was very hoppy and the appearance was a cloudly red/brown color. The taste, however, was not as hoppy as I had expected or wanted. I would try this again but it did not live up to all that I thought it would. Still recommended to try though. chicagodri (1076), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Had it on tap after waiting in line to get my bottles of the Bourbon Angels share. Wow, this is good stuff. Pours a orange amber with a thin white head. Overpowering pine and citrus nose. This is a nice hop bomb, which I love. Didn’t seem like a 10.5% beer. Port/Lost Abbey rock. elihapa (1072), Honolulu, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 7, 2009 1/4/09 notes: bomber, from Ojai Bev Co. Aroma has huge hop bouquet, with tangy lemon and citrus. Appears orange-gold with little head. There is zesty orange, lemon, and mango in the palate, matched with a smooth body, medium-thickness and a touch of carbonation. Finishes with moderate bitterness and tart fruit. This is a really tasty and vibrant brew, and would have benefited even more with a livelier palate. rustychiles (1069), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2008 Poured a 22oz bomber into a Tulip Glass. Pours a nice orange with a small white head with some nice soapy lacing. Smells like Pine Hops and Citrus, mostly grapefruit. Nice mouthfeel, a little oily. The balance between the Sweetness, Malt, Citrus and the hops is perfect, Bitter yet Sweet. Yin and Yang. Also the ABV is well hidden in this one as well. I enjoyed this one a lot. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 12, 2003 On tap@the Solana Beach pub: Chill haze beer bottle amber color with a small (bar pour) off white head. Nose is sweet grapefruit. Hop flavor up front with a grapefruit bitterness almost balanced by a rich barley wine like sweetness. Really smooth mouth feel. A well deserved Silver@GABF '03. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 12, 2009 This was a big beer. Color was very deep amber, it’s mouthfeel was very thick. I enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would.
Good beer but not great. alobar (1054), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Pours amber orange with a tall white alomot frothing head. Hops, pine, grapefruit on the nose. Great balance between hops and citrus with spice and pine adding flavor. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2007 Red pour, almost no head. Aroma is light grapefruit. Flavor is grapefruit and loads of caramel and munich malts, a lot. Huge bash of more sweet caramel malts and tons of grapefruit hoppiness, a little unbalanced but not bad.
