Earthy, piney, and sweaty with some caramel underneath. Hop flavors from start to finish. Long hoppy finish but not very bitter. Medium to full bodied bordering on being syrupy. Alcohol is well hidden. Skyview (4077), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Poured a hazy amber orange with a thin creamy, tan film on top. Lacing is chewy and sparse. Aroma has scents of bubblegum, sweet mandarin oranges, and strong white pine. Flavor is quite strong as aroma. A little medicinal, and extreme hoppy with hints of citrus, white pine, bubblegum, rainy day lawn, and heavy barley malt. Body is medium, creamy with averge carbonation. Palate is syrupy and creamy. A little bite on the aftertaste with sandy bitter and dry flour. Very tastey. Ughsmash (4076), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 13, 2007 Growler thanks to WeeHeavySD! Poured a deep, fiery orange with a lovely cap of off-white head. Wonderfully juicy aroma of pears and grapefruit along with sweet caramel and peppery spices.. really fills out as it warms up.. and does a great job showcasing the hoppage. In the flavor, peppery notes and pineapple bitterness rise above a sweet and toasty caramel and light fruity base.. mostly fruit at the core.. very heavy hoppage (pine, pinapple, and grapefruit) rides out the warm finish. Thick and almost syrupy on the palate with building bitterness as the drink progresses. Great stuff! Thanks Jon! Sammy (4056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 3, 2005 Gold colour, hoppy pine aroma. Nicely hopped, understated carbonation. Bitterness but balanced with malt and easiness on the tongue for an IPA. Radekfest $7 HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc, mabel and tupalev, blankboy’s bottle. Most of the other found this "harsh" - I thought it was about right for a DIPA, if perhaps a little past fresh. Cloudy orange pour with a decent frothy off-white head. Aroma - ah, hops - acidic and funky, citrus/resin trailing behind, framed by a decent juicy malt body - to my nose 3-dimensional, aggressive, and gooood. The taste seems a little more toasty malt-forward than I expected from the nose, but a deep and powerful dryly bitter back-tongue coating of resiny hops kicks in quickly, and sticks around quite a while ... I eventually realized this this was also pretty boozy, but it took a while for that 10.5% ABV to get my attention - briefly - away from the hops. Solid chewy body, quite strongly acidic for the style, only moderately carbonated, and it has a long, long bitter finish - and afterlinger too. Excellent, just what I was craving - gotta love the ’Port! Radek Kliber (3986), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 12, 2005 Murky amber, nice thick pillowy crown. Aroma absolutely dominated with earthy hops. Flavour more of same, load of hops that leaves even more plate damage with time. Very hoppy as name suggest. I am hop head myself but this time was to much my friends. beerguy101 (3969), Newark, California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 9, 2004 Medium orange color, Medium white foamy head. Aroma is grapefruity. A medium bodied Imperial India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and citrusy. A nicely balanced beer, it slightly towards the sweet malts, but both the hops and malts are evident and compliment not compete with each other. Very smooth, nearly creamy mouthfeel. Bitter, but not overly so. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky, if that make any sense. Mouthfeel is full, round and a little sticky. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Updated: Jan 8, 20092008-12-13. Lightly hazy body with a good sized beige head. (4+) . Aroma of citrusy hop, and tangerines initially seems to diminish. Modest malt base, and touches of alcohol. Lightly resiny. (7+) Flavour is quite hoppy but not particularly bitter. Modest resin throughout is dominant character, with a sweetish malty core that has glimpses of caramel. Sweet citrus notes are there to be found but take some effort. Smooth medium to full bodied palate is on the lighter side of carbonation. (4+) Pretty solid but could use just a touch more complexity perhaps? That said, this bottle from Alaska may not be as fresh as possible either, who knows. 7/4/8/4/16-17 Bottle, Brown Jug, Anchorage
Dec 2007. Bottle. Orange body, very small white head (3+). Very hoppy aroma, green and resiny. (7+) Quite bitter, lots of green leafy hops, moderate resin, bit rough in the back of the throat. A nice IPA but it really needs more of the citrusy hops for my liking. Average palate. 7/4/7/3/16 - 3.7
