Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

This is perfect IPA for me. Rich and deep orangey golden color. Loads of citrusy hops on the nose, super complex with floral compenents. Palate is huge without being too heavy. Mix of pine and tangerine citrus on the palate, with a liberal dose of malt thrown in for balance. Long finish, even at 10% it leaves you wanting more when done with the bomber. Keep it up guys! and thank you for making more than you used to so I can drink it without going to CA.

It poured a hazy golden-orange liquid with a small white foam. It had a fresh smell and taste of grassy hops, lemon and other citrus fruit. It was very smooth with a round feeling that just hugged my tongue. Balanced and extremely good, one of the best beers I’ve had.

22oz Bomber.A trade extra from kosko20 thanks John. A hazy amber, orange, color pour with a huge fluffy offwhite head, that faded slowly, leaving some nice lace. Aroma seemed somewhat subdued at first (the big head was hiding it) very nice grapefruit, orange zest, pine, and herbs. Flavor is huge bitter hops YUMMY tastebud bashing pine, citrus and herbal resin bitterness with a little flash of caramel sweetness here and there, a hint of the alcohol at the finish. Full mouthfeel, medium carbonation DUDE this shit is the bomb. Aftertaste = HOPS , burps = HOPS .

One of my favorite California IPAs. Hoppy deliciousness! The pour has a hazy amber orange look to it, with a decent sticky head. The smell of this beer is pure hops. The taste is hop heaven. Not too piney and not too citrus-ey a perfect balance of hop varieties. Probably not the best beer for someone who is just getting introduced to IPA’s , but for the IPA lovers a it’s hit for sure.

Fresh hop aroma of sweet citrus in front of a malty background presence. Appearance is deep gold color with a long lasting small bubble persistent off-white head. The hop bitterness on this big-bodied beer slightly over-balances the complex malt. Hop Flavor matches aroma. Finishes dry from the bitterness that remains on your palate. Reminds me of eating Ruby-Red grapefruit. Great Double IPA.

On tap at Boho. Pours a hazy golden orange with a rocky white head. Aroma is fresh, grapefruit and pineapple, with floral and pine notes and hints of honey. Flavor is intensely hoppy. Lot’s of pine, lots of bitterness, lots of everything! Has a decent malt backbone and is full bodied and oily. Carbonation is moderate. A long lasting dry bitter finish. Very refreshing for how big it is and no alcohol detected. Fantastic stuff!

12 oz. bottle. Pours an amber gold gradient with slightly tan head. Smells of sharp floral hops, pungent, citric. The beer is complex. First a sharp hop bite, which mellows into a sweet fruity feel, then an ultra bitter, grapefruit finish. Amazing.

Huge, huge thanks to coyotehunter for this. Pours a golden orange with a one finger head. Smells of citrus, sugar, honey and pine notes. Mouthfeel is thick and oily, taste follows the nose and is really smooth with a wonderful hops bitter. Really well balanced beer. Wish this was available around here.
