Very exciting, so I picked up this an Old Viscosity, though I’ll age that a while. Pours a dull copper color with a small off-white head that dies somewhat quickly, leaving little to none. Smells of very strongly of citrus, as well as tons of fresh hops, a little bit of pine, and a bit of malt. Tastes of great citrus flavors, some sugary malt (in the back, and its like honey), and lots of fresh hops. Goes down very smooth (as smooth as a I-IPA can be), and leaves a pleasant sweet taste in your mouth. Fairly strong bodied, though it could be more. A very impressive I-IPA. Aroma is not very hoppy for a DIPA, with lots of caramel-y malt notes with a little bit of citric hops and just a touch of alcohol. The front end of the taste is mostly the same with the sticky sweetness of malt, but it rounds out into some more of those citric hop notes, with a little bit of warmth from the alcohol. Very nice! I’m a big fan. 10%drunk (12), Auburn, Washington, USA

This is a very good transition to summer from all the stouts I’ve been drinking this winter. I don’t usually go for the ipa’s but this one doesn’t have the bad bitter after palate. Nice hoppy taste with the big beer bang. Good job guys!!!! nickd717 (1374), Palo Alto, California, USA

Clear golden-amber color, nice off-white head. Strong piney hop aroma. Flavor is piney, grapefruity hops, well balanced by a sweet malty backbone. Typical SoCal IPA hop character. Somewhat syrupy on the palate from the hop oils. This is up there with the best. yumyum (124), barrie, Ontario, Canada

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Sick beer. Smell is ripe candied hop buds. Looks hazy with tiny bubbles one finger head and clingy lace. Flavor is very bitter hop forward but with significant sweetness all the way through. Medium sticky body that leaves the lips smacking. Great beer. A little tweaking could make this amazing. My first of hopefully many Port Brewing beers. Thanks Port Brewing. 08 or 09 22 oz.
