Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Bottle: Courtesy of my Secret Santa, jason...thanks man. Pour was a peach nectar color with a medium-sized cream head and ridiculous lacing. Immediately upon pouring I can tell this is different...must be a West Coast thing, the citrus and hops are not what I typically smell and taste in most IIPA’s. The closest thing I’ve had that smelled like this is Hopslam. Huge grapefruit, peach, nectarine and floral hops are noted in the nose...some pale malts linger but might as well run and hide. This is all about the hops. Medium-full body. A rush of crisp, bitter, citrus-hopped flavors slice and dice their way through my palate. Fantastic brew.

Pours a hazy orange colour with almost no head at all. Aroma is filled with mango, orange, grapefruit, tangerine and some pine. Flavor really dominated by exotic fruit and hops. Some peaches, mango, grape and pine can be found. A bit sweet but ends with a long biitter finish.

650 mL. Pours a hazy orange with a two-finger, eggshell, rocky head with great retention and leaves excellent lacing. Incredible aroma of carrot cake (YES!), gummi worms, clover honey, citric hops. Taste is spicy citrus and piney hops with nutty bitterness showing through. Creamy on the palate. Overall, this is just a very well executed but also very fresh DIPA. Awesome.

This has the most hops I have had in a while. Zesty citrus smell. Sharp and crisp bitterness. So many hops, its almost tart. Some will call this overhopped, but not me. It is a bit out of control though. Super dry...A lesser brewer would have only fermented this to 7percent and made it maltier, but its much better this way. No alcohol taste. Great so-cal Hopbomb!

On tap for Pre-Stone brunch @ 10:00 AM. Great bright color and fruity aroma. A sweet, full bodied beer that got better as I drank it. Lots of flavor just bursting with eack swig. My type of beer,

Pours clear amber, with a thin white head, good lacing. Smells of pine and grapefruit, with a slight undertone of caramel and hay. Medium body, slightly dry. The flavor is much like the smell, has good subtle malt flavors, and a complex hop profile, with a delicious and fairly strong bitter finish.

this is a solid Imperial IPA. very malty and balanced on the front. Citrus apricot hay/grass. Bitterness grows considerably on the finish. In fact that’s the only real reason I wouldn’t give this a 5. Although it does beg to be continually sipped on,
