Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

Thanks To Hellbilly for the bomber!!! Pours hazy copper, with 1 finger and light lacing. Nice piney aroma. Grapefriut on the mouthfeel hop in the middle, and slighty sweet on the finish. Nice clean & crisp finish with not much of a aftertaste. Very complex and well balanced

Had this numerous times. Yesterday being my favorite of all. This IIPA is superb.. Hops, pine, citrus, perfect finish and great balance for being such a big beer - doesn’t go syrupy/sweet considering the high abv - it stays nice and crisp. After having it fresh from the brewery, I can see why it is so well liked - how can you not like a beer that offers a profound experience of hops? Count me in.

Pours a hazy large particulated amber colour. The particulates suspend with larger yeast particles clamped to the bottom of the glass. Nose of of grapefruit hops galore. From the pour it was very aromatic. Sweet malts and pine also linger. Initial taste of grapefruits that spread across the mouth incredibly. The sweet malts balance perfectly for mid palate. Finishing with bitter hops and caramel malts. Good palate duration. Some head retention. Medium body.

Nice coloring on the pour with luscious head. Spiced pine notes come off the nose as well as citrus and slihgtly chewy fruits, applesauce. Decievingly smooth for such a stomper. Robust grapefruit is the main player, but calming boozy and sweet flavors round it out into a more balanced offering. Lingering bitter finish. Tasty.

Bottle, De Molen. Cloudy orange colour, small white head. Intense aroma of pine hops and grapefruit. Flavour of pineapple, orange and grapefruits. Very bitter and dry. Alcohol well hidden.

650 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a slightly cloudy rich copper color with a one finger off-white head that last a while. The aroma is strong and layered with citrus fruits (mostly grapefruit, some lemon and a little lime.) The flavor, like the aroma, showcases the citrus fruits, but it does not stop there--also apparent is vanilla, caramel, pine and cotton candy. All these flavors are set in a biter hops backdrop that makes for a wonderful complexity. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and creamy. The finish is long and sweet with vanilla and hops. Overall: One of the great San Diego IPA’s. Recommended.

Pours a bright golden amber with a dense one-finger head that shows extremely good retention and minimal lacing. Huge fresh hops smell, like walking through a pine forest filled with grapefruits. Also got some citrus notes as well, lemon maybe and some malty sweetness in the background. Quite nice!T: Hello pine forest! Dominant piney hop flavor with a slight malt base. Also got some nice fruity notes leading to a long lasting hoppy bitterness that lingered on the tongue. Pleasant bitter, prickly thickness in the mouthfeel. It’s definitely a great example of a hoppy West Coast DIPA. Drinkability is great and I would definitely seek this out.

Bottle pours attractive copper brown with a full, frothy, two finger head. The nose is very nice with pineapple and floral aromas, along with a bit of caramel malt sweetness. The flavor has a bit more of a bite to it with the bitterness up front, fading to a malty mid, and finishing back to a mouth drying bitterness. Very nice.
