| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | May 5, 2007 From some generous person’s growler at ’07 DLD. Clear orange colored beer with a thin, off white head. Huge fresh hop nose with tons of sharp pine resins and perfume. Juicey citrus flavors with grapefruit, orange and tangerine, plus the pine resin, peach, and light toast. Lots of grapefruit zest in the finish. All this on just enough malt foundation to tempt balance. Very nice hop head beer. MrDick (277), San Francisco, California, USA

Tasted again at Aaron & Kathy’s Holiday Bash 2003... I found this brew to be even more enjoyable than the one tasted one year ago at the Brickskeller’s So. Cal. Strong Ale tasting.***
Draft... 2002 Brickskeller Tasting... This beer rocks!... The nose is lightly malty with a faint cookie-like aroma. However, pretty much knocking the malt flat on it’s back is the heavy hop aroma, specifically spruce and perfume. I also detected a nice apple and soapy aroma in there. Hazy, dark amber in color, this beer has a frothy, white, fully lasting head with excellent lacing. Up front, the beer is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Very well balanced at first sip. The spruce is in the flavor as well. The back end is lightly malty/sweet, HEAVILY BITTER and a touch sour. A great combination and the duration is long. I drank this beer two days ago and I am still enjoying it. Ooops... HOP BURP. Excuse me, please. Full, creamy mouthfeel (the beer, not the burp) with lively carbonation. The finish is pretty alcohol laden, but dry and clean as well. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 18, 2007 Thanks to footy for this - hazy copper beer, with a small ring of lace - loads of grassy, earthy hops exploding out of the glass, so well-blended that it’s hard to pick out individual types - the hop flavor is huge and aggressive, but not abrasive like many of these beers can be - very grassy, herbal, and earthy - just enough malt backbone to add complexity without making the beer sweet - she stays about as dry as she can be for the abv, which compliments the extreme bitterness - very nice. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 14, 2006 EBF. Pours a cloudy dark orange color with a white fizzy head. Nose is sugary sweetness, lots of citrusy notes, and hops. Flavors of fresh hops leap onto the tongue as the citrus explosion begins. A malt texture and character follow up to soothe the tongue from its hop lashing. The palate is lightly fizzy and playful, but with a hidden syrupy smoothness. Finishes lightly bitter and refreshing.
