Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

22 oz bottle from Bev Mo Carmel mtn. Other than this beer having a very cool label, its magic in your mouth. Seriously, big nose of pine, grass, grapefruit.....and more pine. One of the best double’s out there.

Pizza Port can seem to do no wrong when it comes to the Hop. This beer is no different. It’s a hop bomb. A wonderful, delicious hop bomb. If you liked Frank, you’ll love this --- it’s sister beer.

On tap in Solana Beach. Amber coloring with a tall, creamy white head. Uber-hoppy aroma is dripping of tropical fruits like papaya and mango, which is accompanied by the wonderfully citrusy hoppy note. Texture is a touch creamy with a fruity, sticky quality. Tropical fruit flavors really crowd the tongue in a pleasurable fashion, only to be washed clean with the crisp wallop of a hop finish. Leaves me licking my chops for more, while enjoying the hops tingle on the edges of my tongue.

Thanks to Brewblackhole for the beer! Smell of wonderful citrus. Taste of grapefruit, very sweet, a lot of flowery hops too! Nice bitterness at the end.

On tap at the brewery. Slightly hazed ornge pour with a creamy head. A hard hop aroma. A very sweet flavor that finishes with a hop profile that is kick ass. Carbonation is great mouthfeel is solid. A soldi beer all round. A beer that really got my attention upon tasting. I had 3 samples just to make sure that I liked it as much as I did. And I did!!!!! Excellent offering.

Pours a beautiful golden-orange color with a finger of white head. Aroma of pine resin, grapefruit, and tropical fruits with a slight caramel backing. Slight notes of toasted grain come out as the beer sits. Flavor is nicely piney, with citrus notes and a slightly sweet malt backbone. Slight alcohol burn. Body is fairly syrupy but still retains a nice dry finish. A really nice double IPA.

Pours a sparkling amber color with a canvas-colored, medium, pillowy head; settles somewhat quickly to a very small frothy bit leaving minimal lace. Nose is very intriguing; floral, pine resins, vanilla, white pepper, candied apricots, ruby red red grapefruit, and some earthen tones. Flavor is equally interestng; it starts wth candied apricots, cookie, and some ruby red grapefruit. It follows with white pepper, pine resins, bitter oranges, and starts to dry with dry grass and and earth. Palate is lively, medium to full, and sticky with minimal dryness. Finishes long and bitter with dry grass, faint cookie, and faint white pepper. A good IIPA with a good balance between hops and malts but complexitiy is a bit weak. Nothing spectacular but solid
