Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

a rich amber pour with a 1/2 inch tan head which settles down to a layer of lace. wonderful fruity aroma of grapefruit and apricots. full bodied brew with some caramel & honey sweetness and more grapefruit - piney hops. hops were just a bit over the top in comparison to the malts but still quite delicious.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear middle amber, with sparse bubbles in white around the rim. Aroma comes fast and furious with a sweet, clean orange hop mash. Sugar tooth to a hop character shaking with resins, freshness and candy. Perfusive and exploding. On the tongue, a beautiful hop bouquet, focusing on flavor, instead of the requisite bitteness marries with one of the most impressive malt bills of an IPA. There’s palpable chewiness in a tome of caramel, toast and malted sugars. The resins work so well with this base masterpiece and make this dangerously quaffable. Candied, cream, bright and alive. Maybe yearning for some of the bready spice fire that many in this style draw, but possibly unneccesary. Fantastic.

Courtesy SoLan. Growler. Pours a hazy, magnificent glowing reddish orange with almost no head. Small fizzy white bubbles hug the edges of the glass. Very floral hop aroma, some grapefruit mixed in as well. A little mild, but really lovely. The taste has a good amount of hops, a slightly bitter grapefruit flavor as well. Doesnt really attack you with hops, but they are still pretty profound. The finish and aftertaste were pleasantly sweet, more so in the aftertaste. Finishes smooth and has a nice slick mouthfeel. Very good.

Bomber courtesy somebody from the Orlando crew. Cloudy golden color with a white head. Rich, aggressive pineapple hop character. Thick, sticky palate. Smooth start quickly gives way to a strong grapefruit hop character that spreads itself well thoughout the taste. Lingering grapefruit rind finish. Overall, a real nice DIPA, but not as aggressive as I thought it would be, but that ends up working in its favor.

Hazy, amber colour with a great, dense head. Amazing aroma of high alpha hops such as peach, citrus, caramel, and other fruits. Great flavour of burned caramel and hops. Ends up very bitter and tasty.

Love my hops. This one is a crazy hop experience without tasting too bitter at the end. Some pine and citrus aroma as well as taste. Very Big beer. Complex even though so hoppy. Smooth and hoplicious.
