Strong, full hop aroma. Cloudy, golden orange appearance.
Rounded but intense hop flavor. Creamy, well-carbonated palate, great mouthfeel. Excellent serving temperature and condition. bu11zeye (5603), Frisco, Texas, USA

Big hop is balanced with chewy malt. Finishes very bitter. I know everyone can make a big hop beer these days, but I really like this brewery. Good beer. sayravai (3752), Helsinki, Finland

Huge hop nose with exotic fruit, pine needles, and some alcohol warmth. Loads of hop bitterness and fruitiness also in the flavor, with a long, bitter, piney finish. Medium to full-bodied and slicky with low carbonation. A very nice Double IPA, but probably even better when fresh. 689926000150 marcus (1885), Sacramento, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 31, 2009 This bright orange beer poured with a decent beige head a a wonderful floral aroma. There is a flavorful caramel malt base that is hearty enough to compete with the intense hop bitterness. It all comes together very nicely to provide a delicious glass of beer with a spicy carbonated finish. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA

Sizable, foamy, quickly dissipating head. Fresh pine hop leaves great your nose. A bit metallic. Fresh hops dominate the flavor with fruity orange and spice. Nice malty backbone of caramel and light grain but mostly hops. Bright in you mouth with a coating medium body and big bitter finish. Some alcohol warmth as it goes down. Most enjoyable. Probably my favorite 2IPA of GABF.
Since GABF I have had this several more time, both at the brewery and again just recently at new years 2008. I’ve made a few changes to my initial notes. Amber color wtih light carbonation. In addition to the pine aroma I also noted strong caramel and earthy hops. Hop pofile I also noted pineapple and pine. Very dry finish. No change in score. This is a winner. HopHeadinAZ (120), USA

Pine and citrus with a bit of sweetness drive the nose. The reminds me of the first time I tried Hop 15, years ago. Piney hops and some grapefruit on the finish drive this. The mouth feel is almost perfect with a bint of astringency. This has to be one of the best IIPA I’ve tasted and I’ve had a few. Cheers to Tomme and Port!
