Some sticky lace. Fresh grapefruit, some ripe mangoes, pine resin, citrus and grass with some fleeting floral notes. Flavor mainly dominated by grapefruit, lemon pith, orange peel and spruce with an abundant brown sugar and butterscotch sweetness. There is an omnipresent fruity character that shines through the astrigency. Body is medium thick and buttery soft. Maybe a little diacetyl. Finishes...bitter, but not as harsh as some other DIPA’s. Fantastic. Saarlander (1588), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Nice copper pour to this one, lingering head, hops are forefront, some grapefruit, but it settles down with malt, and as it warms, becomes an easy drinking brew, somewhat sticky, great brew! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 31, 2009 This bright orange beer poured with a decent beige head a a wonderful floral aroma. There is a flavorful caramel malt base that is hearty enough to compete with the intense hop bitterness. It all comes together very nicely to provide a delicious glass of beer with a spicy carbonated finish. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA

Ripe Ruby Red grapefruit nose mixed with lots of piney hops. Grilled pineapples in the tatse. Nice finish, a bit pithy. trevor211 (526), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Now this is an IIPA. Pours a cloudy honey amber with a great head that sticks around for quite a while. Aroma of hops, hops and more hops - it just hits you in the face when you lift the glass to your nose. Mostly citrus, but some floral hops in there as well. The flavor is delicious - mild notes of apricot and grapefruit along with pine and, you guessed it, hops. Thick - it just coats your mouth, and leaves a great aftertaste lingering. This is a fantastic beer, especially for hop heads. SamGamgee (1469), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Updated: Mar 31, 200822oz bottle. Hazy orange with a small, sticky head. Big fruity aroma with lime, grapefruit, mango, papaya, mint, and sugary sweetness. Tons of stuff packed in there. The flavor has a lot of sugary sweet malt that almost balances the massively bitter hops. Grapefruit dominates, but there are plenty of different hop nuances in here. Finishes long and bitter with some alcohol warmth. Full mouthfeel, with creamy carbonation. A little too sticky and sweet after awhile. Lots of nice flavors, but this is one to enjoy in smaller doses for sure. (3.7) Rerate: Rich hoppiness. The complexity and intensity of the hop flavor is almost ridiculous, but never gets to bitter or unpleasantly too intense. Still too rich to take in large doses. A pure hop sipper. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this brew had a significant malty backbone to slightly balance the overwhelming citrus hops. This brew was like it’s High Tide cousin, but fuller and smoother.
