Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.

A wonderful treat that helps celebrate the end of a work week. Caramel custard, piney and citrus hops. Possibly my favorite beer, trying this beer could change peoples entire perception on 100 IBU beers.

Bottle thanks to Me, they just started distributing this in CO yesterday! pours a hazy amber/orange with a not so impressive head, diminishing off white, little to no lacing. Aromas of well hops of course, and a grapefruit growing grass. Flavor is a sticky mess of hoppy bitterness with bit of sweet malt. A beautifully balanced double IPA. I thank the people who decided it would be a great idea to broden the distribution level of lost abbey/port brewing!

Bottle. Pours orange/amber with a quick white head. Reeks of hops. Citrus, grapefruit and slightly boozy, tastes like mostly delicious hops. Completely awesome.

Bottle at Sorbon in June 09. A little hazy orange color with rather small white head. Fantastic aroma of ananas, tropical fruits, citrus and hops. Balanced, alcohol was nicely hidden. Long bitter finish. Very good beer!

660 ml bottle. 10.0%. Finland. AW09. Hazy amber colour. HOPPY aroma. Flavour is also very hoppy and bitter with sweet caramel finish. Refreshingly carbonated. Great!

I was stunned...The alcohol, at 10%, was not overstated. The hop character was perfectly balanced in both aroma and on the palette. I feel fortunate to have been able to experience this...A great DIPA.

Pours a cloudy burnt orange with small quickly dissipating head. Smells promising with a strong presence of pacific northwest hops. Pineapple, grapefruit, pine and some caramel malt are all present in the aroma. The flavor is similar, with a lot of citrus and sweet fruit, balanced well with the malt, nice and bitter too. Full bodied and lightly carbonated, this is the definition of a well crafted double IPA.
