A spectrum of colors that emerge from the bottle is broad: copper, murky orange, deep cherry wood, ruddy brown, everything in between. A thin, finely lacing off-white head dissipates slowly. The nose is full of dried wood, floral/funk switches, tart fruits, caramel, earth, brettanomyces, vanilla creme and white pepper. Tannic notes and moderate alcohol further the spice melee. The flavor is absolutely breathtaking. More dark fruits explode onto the palate but only release modest acidity. Sweetness is high and vibrant. Bitterness is low, tartness immovable. Additions of caramelized brown sugar and pear join in the fun. The mouthfeel is sweet and loaded with ample maltiness in a glazing slow movement, softly carbonated and medium-full bodied. Delicious. Oh, how I love sour beer.

750. Aroma is absolutely divine. Every time I go to take a sip, I am stopped short by the pure bliss entering my nose. Cinnamon, clove, clover, and very light sugar. White wine. Fresh baked bread and tart cherries. Wow. Like Rodenbach, but much more refined and complex. The taste is chewy and pure, cascades of tart fruits -- strawberry, raspberry, gooseberry, peach -- sit atop a brown sugar cookie. All of it dressed in 50 year old balsamic vinegar. Supremely refined and stunningly presented. Fantastic! Thank you, whoever sent this to me... sorry I can’t remember who! It was a treat indeed. This is going right back on my wants list, though I have a feeling I may not be seeing it again.

Dark coppery colored, cloudy appearance. Little yellow head. Strongly sour aroma, wood also there with perfume and cranberries. Rich, even lambiccy aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is even better than aroma: strongly dry and sour, wood also with some cranberries coming up. Aftertaste dries even more.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is brutally sour, fruity, woody and leafy. Flavour is very much the same in an excellent balance. Very complex, sour and lovely.

Bottled, thanks cquiroga! Pale brownish amber, no head. Acidic lighly oaky strawberry aroma. Dryish with soft malt and gently sparkling mouthfeel. Complex flavour of wild strawberries, vinegar, oak and blueberries. Vinous with near Cantillon-like acidity. An ultra superb beer that left me speechless.

Hazy brown color, small off-white head. Sour, earthy aroma. Sourish .. cherry flavor is dominating. Smooth carbonation. Very stylish, balanced Rodenbach-like sour ale.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Very muddy amber with a small head. Sourish, cherryish aroma with a great balance. Sour-malty, fruity flavor with way too many nuances to be sensed this time of day. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated palate. Perhaps the most balanced Flemish Sour ever encountered - a real beauty.
