On tap at brewery. Clear golden with fizzy white head. Citrus and pine aroma and a sweet fruit and pine taste.

From a Growler got @ the Brew Pub today. Shared with my GF Cyn, and friends Chris and Geoff. Porus orange with a bright white ring. Nose has a big hoppy resissny nose. Taste is really nice, big and hoppy. The ctirus is in full effect and it tastes great. Just as good as I expeceted. Great brew.

On tap a PP Solano Beach. Got a 64oz growler. Took it home and hand bottled two 22ozers for pantanap and tonraner, leaving 20 oz pint for me. Pours ice cold from growler with a yellow amber color. Today I tried several IIPAs at Churchills (younger, elder, sculpin, hopsickle) so I guess that gives me a decent reference point. Hop bitterness was strong at first, but quickly fades. Very interesting. Not as much melanoidany sweetness that I usually see in modern IIPAs. I’m guessing this recipe is much older. The cold subdues the aroma I think. Flavor is smooth and highly drinkable, with no off flavors. Not as drinkable as Sculpin on cask or as tasty as Younger, but tastier and easier to drink than Elder (though many would disagree). Medium to heavy body. Another great night in beer heaven...San Diego.

On-tap PPSB, I enjoyed a pitcher. Pours a deepish burnt orange color with a foamy white head that hangs around forever and leaves quite a but of lace. Nose is a citrusy sweet, almost caramelly hop aroma, somewhat earthy. Taste is hoppy, earthy thick. Lots of citrus and some pine, very citrusy. Medium bodied, great carbonation. Runs with the best of the DiPA’s.

GABF 2007. I’ve had this at a couple of different festivals, but never rated it. Awesome; definitely one of my favorite hoppy beers of all time. Hops begin somewhat piney in the smell, blended with an uberfresh grapefruit aroma. In the mouth, gliding malts balance perfectly the crouched hops that spring forth in juiciness the moment you swallow. Finish is light with a lingering bitterness that is a perfect complement to the juicy, fruity hops and the light cracker malts. Wonderful, wonderful beer.

GABF 2007. Pours to a bright pale yellow body with a dense white head. The aroma is divine. Hops and fresh hoppy fruits galore. Catty citrus and pine. The flavor is bitter pine, citrus, grapefruit hops with a strong crisp pale malt backbone. Overly bitter resiny oily palate.

GABF 2007 Huge, fantastic citrus aroma. Taste is orange with a subtle citrus aside. Just fantastic.
