I’m guessing this is what was on tap at Downtown Brown’s in San Diego, even though they had a beer listed as "Lost Abbey Revelation". Has a lot of spicy, peppery notes present in the nose. Perhaps some orange peel, too. Not overly aromatic, though. Transparent golden body with virtually no head. What is there is quickly dissipating. Fruity, sweeter start with some mild estery banana notes in the middle. Maybe some lemon/orange in there, too. Virtually no hop flavor in the finish. Not bad, but not memorable, either.

on tap at papago... slightly hazy golden colored pour with a short lived fizzy white head. methinks that the glass was still wet... fruity aroma has notes of bready yeast, candi, toffee without the sugar, warm spices (clove and cinnamon, perhaps coriander) and a bunch of florals. lots of fruity/banana-like yeast in the flavor... odd? maybe it is the alcohol? (damn, i wish someone would have told me these were 8.5% and stopped serving them in 22’s!) anywho.. other flavors of flowers, pale malt, prickly dry hops, some clove and a dryness similar to b-king powder. the spice filled finish is fairly dry and leaves an aftertaste which is definitely bananas and their starchiness. it is a bit one dimensional yet tasty. the body is medium and it has a very drinkable mouth feel. there is a bit of chalkiness and the prickles (whether hoppy spice or carbonation) keep it fun. 7/3/7/3/15/3.5

On tap at Blind Lady. Pours a deep amber-gold with a big fluffy white head. Sharp aroma, of malt, hops, spice, and yeast. Taste is sweet and sharp, of malt, sugar, spice. Lingering sticky sweetness. Tasty.

Sampled at the 2009 AZ Strong Beer Fest on February 28th. Gold pour with a foamy head. A nice brew with light malt and fruit, yeast and spice. Good stuff.

Clear golden with a white head. Yeasty, spicy, grainy malt aroma. Medium body. Bready pale malt flavors with sweet spices and some earthy yeast. Not too bad. Draft@ PP Carlsbad

Pours hazy orange yellow with a good size white head, nice spider web lace. Smells light spicy and sweet with some yeast and clove. Tastes bready and yeasty and spicy up front with a mild sweetness towards the finish. Cereal grains throughout. Medium, thin body, good carbonation.
