Very discreet aroma - nothing much happening really. Medium body, fruity with a dry and bitter finish. Well. 060709 Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 7, 2009 Draft in Carlsbad. A pale golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, hops, and spices. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hops, spices, and herbs, leading to a dry and very bitter, hoppy, and spicy finish. The body is light. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Jul 6, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. Copper with a white head. Lots of herbal spicy and woody hops in the aroma, along with some darker bread crust. Toasty and light caramel malt flavor with some almost bunt bread crust and a resinous bitter finish. Pretty well balanced, but the finish is definitely on the dry and bitter side, with a pretty complex malt flavor pretty much giving way to the hops. Medium-light in body with medium bobbles helping the hops out. There are English hops all over the aroma and finish of this guy. Tasty, and surprisingly not seemingly enjoyed as much by most other people. I think they are dialing this in with the new batch.
