Tasted at the 13th Annual Strong Ale Fest on 12/4/2009. This Imperial Stout pours a dark black color from the tap. Small to medium sized tan foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, cherries and some bourbon. A full bodied Russian Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate and coffee with a touch of wood and bourbon. The hops are earthy and herbal. Nice balance. Decent carbonation. The chocolate flavors really dominate in this beer, but they mix well with the bourbon flavors. Hides the 10% alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Strong Ale 2009, one of the standouts of the night and really nice to see a PP SC beer that really stands out like this. Pours black with a light brown head. Nose is sweet and rich, somewhat malevolent of whats to come. Taste is super sweet, with rich chocolate, and a big punch, really tasty impy.

On tap at Pizza Port Strong Ale fest, top 3 beers of the afternoon. Pours a motor oil black with a creamy chocolate head. Nose held tons of sweet vanilla, caramel, toffee and some cocoa dust. Flavor held a good amount of bittersweet chocolate, toffee, some bourbon heat and sweet vanilla on the finish.....damn tasty.

On tap at the SD Strong Ale Fest 09. Pours a pitch black with fluffy large tan head. Chocolate nibs, roasted malt, vanilla, espresso, and bourbon. Just what a huge imp stout should be. Very tasty.

Served on tap at the 2009 Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival. The apperance is a creamy black with a burnt brown head. The nose is full of bourbon and vanilla. The flavors continue the bourbon dominance with nice additions of chocolate and vanilla.. The mouth feel is really smooth and full. A touch boozy but very nice beer.

(Draught) Pours an opaque dark brown (near black) with tall tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, hops (earthy), and toasted grains with a creamy, smooth finish. Nice Impy!

On tap. Pours black and opaque with a creamy light brown head. Fat aroma of hard roasted malts and molasses. Very full-bodied, plenty of sweet hard roasted malts, licori´ce and dried fruit. Rather alcoholic finish with some malt bitterness. 080709
