Aroma rings with honeydew and lemon grass, freshly cut after a mid-summer rain. It’s timed perfectly for the season. Sweet orange crème toffee crests on the aromatic ridge. Bitter peaches trollop with maple covered grapefruit. Peaches, amaretto and balsa wood interweave. Honeyed marigolds and tinctured carbonation ride a horizontal line across the tongue. A gentle, grassy ridge cuts sweet bitterness to the edge. Thanks for the 750-ml. bottle, tpkenned!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Growler from Solana that I’ve been sitting on for 6 days. Creamy medium orange with a fluffy two finger yellowish white head, great retention. Citrus hops up front with a little bit of sweat and floral notes behind. Just a hint of caramel malt noted. The flavor adds some fresh pine hops, and the malts are still pretty weak. Earthy bitterness peaked at a 6-7--pretty damn bitter--and lingered quite a while. Medium body with light to moderate carbonation. A good enough IPA that I would be happy to drink on a regular basis, but it isn’t a must-try before you die. awiseman01 (386), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2009 16 oz shaker pint at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Pour is slightly hazed copper golden, a bunch of carbonation and a 1/2 inch white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of fresh resin sweet citrus and pine hoppiness. A touch of toasty malt behind that. Taste is the nose, though with big resin graininess, more pine than citrus, toasty malt really comes through nice. Finish is dry and bitter. Palate is medium, thin, high carb, very bitter and drying in the finish. Super drinkable. Ungstrup (15430), Frederiksberg, Denmark
