Darkest pour with decent head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Lots of roasted flavors of more coffee, esspresso, and roasted malts. Very very tasty.

Without seeing the beer’s description there was no doubt this had to be a coffee stout! Oh, and it tastes very good, with a thick palate and gentle undertones of roast and smoke. Excellent beer. Growler shared at RBSG 2009 grand tasting.

Growler. Black and opaque with a vague orangey hue and a beige head. Distinct hard roasted malt - very coffeeish. Quite full-bodied, very hard roasted malts, coffee and ashes with an underlying sweetness. Alcohol in the finish with a heavy malt bitterness. A little too burned for my liking. 110709

On tap. Pours black and opaque with a light brown head. Sweet, burned malts in the nose. Quite full-bodied with lots of sweet hard roasted malt and some coffee. Has a vague underlying fusty edge. Alcoholic finish with some malt bitterness. 7/3/6/3/14=3.3 080709

Growler at the RBSG09 grand tasting thanks to Cquiroga. Black with a tan head. green coffee and light dark chocolate aroma. The flavor is just an assault of sweet coffee. Nice, but a not one-dimensional. Medium-full body with medium carbonation. Nice coffee flavors. I dig it, but coffee is about all you get.

RBSG growler courtesy of cquiroga at the grand tasting. Pours dark dark brown with a nice dark tan head. Aroma is a little chalky and a little vegetal from the coffee beans, but these are minor off flavors in a sea of roasted malts, sweet cream, dark chocolate, cocoa, and fig. Flavor is just blatant coffee that washes into caramel and chocolate before finishing dry. Good stuff.

Dark brown pour with medium sized tan head. Aroma of espresso of course with a nice chocolate kick and some roasted malt. Flavor is pretty much espresso and chocolatey goodness. Overall a great tasting brew, quite smooth.
