Pours with a massive head, off-white, fluffy and the body is a hazy, dark chesnut brown. Finally settles to a managable level... Nose is decent with fig, lots of clove, banana, toasted notes, and light bublegum. Flavor is better but similar; rich toffee, bubblegum, banana bread, wheat, clove, and plenty of yeast with hints of tartness and a light bitterness near the end. Palate is medium full, silky, somewhat round, but quite fizzy which gets in the way a bit. Finishes with banana, toffee, and bubblegum in an average length and sweet finish. Nicely done beer in the style, nothing of Avientus but still a good example of the style. Could afford to be slightly more complex and lose some of the carbonation to become great.

Hazy, dark amber with a large fizzy beige head. The aroma is figs, raisins, toffee and bread. The flavor is slightly sweet, toffee, figs, plums, banana and lightly herbal hops. Medium/full body is soft with Medium/light carbonation. Nice.

Hazy and dark brown below a dense, off-white head. Strong aroma of banana with lesser notes of malty toasted bread, clove and caramel plus a hint of pencil lead that also shows up in the taste. The flavor is moderately sweet and slightly bitter. Wheat comes through in both aroma and flavor. Very fizzy mouthfeel. Medium body. Slightly tart to bitter finish, but the malty sweetness is dominant throughout. Enjoyable.

500ml bottle: Pours an extremely dark amber with a fizzy cola head. Intense aroma is filled with overripe banana, bubble gum, vanilla and tart cherry. Spritzy carbonation balanced by a medium wheaty body. The body is lightly tart and peppery with alcohol. A more rounded plum and banana profile emerges as the beer warms, that also notes fresh dough and caramel. The interesting yeast profile carries this for me, but the spritzy carbonation really pulls things apart.

Bottle Hazy brown colour with a nice white head. Aroma of banana, fruit and little bread-like. Nice flavour of wheat, and fruitness. Ends up quite pretty and with a nice warm feeling from the alcohol.

500ml Bottle: Pours a dark red-ruby with brown edges until the sediment is poured, then the beer turns a cloudy brown red, a foamy white head with a few off-white bubbles, faint banana fused in bubble gum powder and sweetness in the nose, wheat malt and mild fruit aroma, taste of dark malt, sweet, faint plum, raisin and brown sugar flavors, bubbly on the palate, great mouth feel, a tasty malt drink, faint dark fruit flavor, sediment adds a bread flavor, small bitterness on the tongue, a tasty drink, this is the third Plank beer to date and I have enjoyed all of them, I will buy them again, I wish more of their beers were available in my area.

(500 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/boothbay/ target=blank>1828 Vintage House) Nice palate and lots of flavors...Pours cloudy honey brown with a huge somewhat rocky biege head in my weizen glass. Aroma of banana, clove, pepper, lilies and caramel. Mouthfeel luscious and soft. Flavor of caramel, brown sugar, licorice, pepper, light sourish tang and banana. Very nice.
