| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Crackly, fizzy tan head, fairly quick, over a clear, bronze/whisky colored body. Old caramel and metallic nose with creamy yeastiness behind. Caramel stabilizes late and appears fresher as it opens up. Slightly soured malt flavor with a sugary cloy. Uneventful mouth, a little fizzy with an aftertaste that lingers simply "sweet" and a gut-reaction which lingers "sour". Sub-par. ~~~~~~~~ Purchased October 2007, Party Store, Marshall, MI. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 11, 2009 From the bottle pours a translucent, Coca-Cola brown colored body with a large, fleeting, fizzy head of khaki colored foam. A sudsy wash rejoins the body entirely, leaving no lace. Aromas include subdued dark fruit, primarily fig, with notes of dark caramel, browned banana, dry cocoa, and hints of hazelnut. Flavors follow suit, sweet from the caramelized fruits, but balanced by sufficient earthy hop bitterness and dry, semi-sweet cocoa. The mouthfeel is a major letdown. Aggressively fizzy, the sharp, prickly carbonation gets in the way of what is otherwise a medium bodied, lightly syrupy body. Eh....this was far from great. Pretty sub-par, in fact. gunnfryd (3609), Kristiansand, Norway

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 25, 2009 Bottle, from trade with MiP. It pours a semi-clear, brown body under a small, off-white head. Grainy, bready nose with caramel and a little fruityness. I think it lacks a bit there, especially on the banana. Bready and grainy flavor too, with some hops giving bitterness, but also here it’s low on fruityness. Medium to full body. A decent weizenbock, but it didn’t impress at all. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Pours a dark brown color with a reddish tint topped by a thick, foamy cream colored head. Some sticky lacing sticks to the glass. The aroma shows notes of dark fruits, banana, and some bready malts. Some sweet candy sugar makes its way though as it warms. The flavored follows with the dark fruits, bananas, and candy sugar up front balanced out by the wheat and bready malts. Medium bodied with a creamy texture on the palate and easy drinking. This one shows good balance and a very smooth mouthfeel. Solid brew at this style. BrotherGrendel (606), San Diego, California, USA
