| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Sampled at a craft beer tasting seminar at Curly’s Bar and Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL.. Poured a cloudy, light amber with a modest, white head that diminished quickly to a ring and film, leaving a little spotty lacing. The aroma was slightly spicy, with some brown sugar sweetness, medium fruit, and a little grain. The flavor continued these with less intensity, adding a little tartness and good carbonation. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2009 Bottle from Binny’s Beverage Depot in Plainfield, IL: It poured a somewhat hazed, light amber body with a tall eggshell head. Oddly, no lace. It had an aroma of aging apples, caramel, and a splash of mineral water. Light and spritzy mouthfeel. The flavor had the addition of cloves with a touch of lemon that hit the back of the throat. It ends on a fruity, spicey note. Pretty decent. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA

Aroma of cooked bananas, green and caramelized. Very fruity scent. Flavor of cooked mushrooms, some light spice (maybe thyme). Very Earthy. Finishes with a light spicy clove and a fine carbonation. This beer seems to be more of a Hefe-Helles to me. Amazingly tasty. Prost! Ron (1039), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Bottle. Deep golden in color with a nice fluffy white head. Fruity banana clove aroma. Malty earthy caramel notes. Banana lemon and spicy flavor. So good it did not need to add lemon. Medium bodied. Finish is spicy. Smooth tasting. Very drinkable. Bigsilky (322), Charleston, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Very seductive nose. Fresh bread with a spoonfull of bananas in a caramel rum sauce, slight hint of citrus spray. Very mellow mouthfeel, round and a little rustic. This hefe pours darker than most and reminds me of the heady and old-school Schneider. Very refreshing and substantive at the same time. Clean finish. Works very well food as the mildness doesn’t talk above the bacon. A little pricey, and not widely availible. 88, the Hellerbock is outstanding.
