500 ml bottle thanks to my favorite Uncle, Mattie. Pours a somewhat cloudy bronze/orange color with a thick white foamy head. The aroma is nice; sweet and rich malts, light fruit and apricot. The taste is great; rich and bready malts, light alcohol, fruit and sweet honey covered biscuits. Very nice. A good example of a Teutonic brew. A very full and creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle… Cloudy orange lager with tons of miniscule black floaties motoring about the glass. Small, creamy, white head with decent retention. Fruity, malty, yeasty aroma - peach, apricot, toffee and fresh-baked bread. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. Sweet, biscuity flavor up front with underlying notes of toffee, raw sugar and a hint of fuzzy fruit. Lengthy, lightly sweet finish. Thanks go out to smith4498 for sharing the bottle!

very sweet, lots of malt flavor, the kind of astringent flavor with some citrus rind like flavor.

The aroma is very good with citrus and herbal hops that don’t seem too strong. The aroma also has adjunct like malts. The appearance is orange gold with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma with a citrus finish. The palate is thin. Overall this is good.

(500 ml bottle from Kappy’s) Pours slightly cloudy apricot with half a finger of biege head that recedes mostly to edges. Aroma of honey, hay, caramel and a hint of licorice. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, perhaps a touch pebbly and dryish. A bit thin. Very light, weepy rings of lacing. Flavor of honey, hay and caramel overlain by a lightly biting, lightly piney bitterness that contrasts nicely with the malt. A light bitter pull through the finish along with light smokiness and a hint of egg. Hints of complexity in a pretty nice doppel. This seems pretty underrated (3.3 score as I write this).
