| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2007 2007 PP SAF Bottle from Chris Q, thanks: Golden hue with small head but good lace. The aroma has notes of estery banana, clove, allspice, wheat bread, pale malts, and a tad buttery. The taste starts with nice sweet malts and wheat with a fruity side note. Marzipan, grassy and clove notes as well. The mouth feel is sprite and refreshing, dry and mineral finish. A nice solid beer. WeeHeavySD (2980), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2007 PP Strong Ale Fest 07. Bottle From cquiroga, Thanks Chris. Pours yellow with a 3 finger bright white head. Nose is very big and wheaty, quite nice. Taste is full of wheat and citrus. Damn Tasty. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2007 My Bottom Line:
A citrus and plantane meringue smoothes its way into a spicy, gingery finish which is veiled by a hyperactive effervescence. This was a complex and coherent Heller Weizenbock which had to breathe out for quite a while before it let itself be enjoyed.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-Furious foaming makes it difficult to pour even into a Spezial mug; so much so that the first pint pour is half beer, half foam. And this after having stood upright in the cellar for 3 weeks.
-The yeasty fruitiness is full of personality, ranging from citrusy tropical fruit to sweeter banana-like varieties.
-The big-bubbled carbonation remains soft on the palate.
-There is no sign of this beer’s heft.
-This must be truly be smashing when properly carbonated.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Bottle. Pours a very cloudy gold with a tall, long lasting white head. The scent is right on for a solid, traditional German hefeweizen, just more robust than I would expect from that style. A good presence of clove, nutmeg, banana, and a dry, yeasty note are present. Body is medium with light, though spritzy, carbonation. Banana and clove are right up front while the finish dries out my palate before reaching balance in conjunction with a tasty honey flavor. No big surprises are found here, this is basically an amped up hefeweizen, but is one of the more complex and satisfying beers along those lines I’ve had. performula (147), Triangle Area, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2007 Pours a cloudy yellow, almost amber color. Taste of banana to me. Clove aftertaste lasts a couple minutes. Pretty good as it was stumpled across. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours cloudy orange golden with a large white head. Aroma of banana, spices, cloves, and cotton candy. the flavor is sweet, candi sugar, banana, cloves, spices, with a fair amount of hops. Good body, damn good brew. crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Orangy and a bit hazy. Nice thick head when it’s poured that dissipates. A bit hoppy and definitely wheaty. A very clean weizen, very refreshing. I’m not seeing why this beer is rated so high though.
