Orangy and a bit hazy. Nice thick head when it’s poured that dissipates. A bit hoppy and definitely wheaty. A very clean weizen, very refreshing. I’m not seeing why this beer is rated so high though.

500 ml bottle. Poured a hazy orange/yellow with a creamy white head with large bubbles. Sweet syrupy aroma with notes of wheat, grass and yeast. Overly fizzy carbonation and a slight bit of alcohol on this full bodied brew. Flavor wasn’t quite as good as the aroma with a slight fruity malty flavor followed by some wheat. This would make a good summertime sipper.

500ml. bottle thanks to Willblake. Hazy dark golden color with a medium sized white head. Yeasty aroma reminiscent of bananas, cloves, bubblegum and honey. Strong flavor of cloves on first sip, followed by some banana and a hint of citrus. Mildly sweet, with a very heavy carbonation.

Pours a hazy dirty gold color with an obnoxious head of off-white. Little lacing for all the head involved. Heavy aromatics of banana, clove, and bubblegum. Bready flavors with more banana and clove, but quiet bubblegum. Aggressive carbonation knocks this down yet another notch. Alcohol is noticeable with a warming and reddening action to my cheeks. No Aventinus. No way, no how.

500 ml bottle. A cloudy deep gold body produces a huge, lasting white head that looks like meringue and leaves large bands and circles of sliding lace. Beautiful blend of yeast, clove, honey , and a faint floral character in the aroma. Very lively carbonation pairs with a medium body, more substantial than many weizenbocks. Has a light rich character, with some acidity and a clean palate. A background of honey sweetness supports a soft wheaty sourness and a faint spicy bitterness. Finishes dry, thirst quenching, and carefully balanced. This is a terrific weizenbock.

Pours hazy deep gold into a Weizen glass. Fluffy white micro head takes 3 pours to fill the glass. Banana and clove aromas. Crisp caramel with a lasting banana flambe finish.

Bottle. Pours sparkling dark yellow with a small, fizzy, white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (hay, straw, toasted), light hops (grass, herbs), average yeast (dough, horse blanket) with notes of banana. Medium bodied, gritty texture, lively carbonation and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity and bitterness.

(500 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/boothbay/ target=blank>1828 Vintage House) Soft banana, spicey and boozy...Pours cloudy bright grayish yellow. Very tall foamy off-white head forms quickly in my Paulaner weizen glass. Aroma is initially like lilies, then as head finally recedes there is banana, clove and spice. Mouthfeel soft, smooth, almost luscious. Some lacing, but I’m not sure you ever get good lacing in a weizen glass (just plenty of head). Flavor is about the richest I’ve found from this style - banana, clove, spice, pepper - also kind of winey and brown-sugary boozy. I’m not the biggest wheat beer fan but this is a great beer.
