Situation: An end of the week relaxer... Glassware: Kisatsky pint glass... Appearance: dark transparent body with an off-white two-finger head that settles well--looks like a hearty ale... Aroma: some warming. roasted notes--some buttery, some nutty elements as well--welcoming... Palate: smooth, medium-bodied with a rankle of activity in the throat--creamy and effervescent.. Taste: subtle flavors of hops, sugary sweetness with some floral yeasts--in general, a mix of beer elements that form a well-rounded taste... Overall: no complaints about this beer, but aside from the newness of the purchase, I am not sure I would seek this out again, as some browns are demonstratively more profound or more available...

Sienna colored appearance with an average size white head and nice lacing. Muted caramel malt aroma with a faint hint of nuts. Taste is roasted malts, some chocolate, some nuttiness. Smooth mouthfeel, although a bit thin. Less than complex, but a good drinking beer nonetheless.

Clear brown body with a very thin white head. The aroma is very light but sweet. Malt and maybe some brown sugar. Light bodied and thin with lively carbonation. Malty sweetness dominates the pleasant flavor with caramel and brown sugar. The finish is a bit bitter. This is a good beer.

On tap at Pizza/Birreria Paradisio. Pours a clear orange brown with a thin tanned beige head. Light toasted malt, but not a lot else going on. Malty, a little metallic. Finishes with a slightly acidic flavor that reminds me of the inner core of a pineapple.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of skunk, grains, Cheeri-Os, light nuts, and a hint of toasted malts. Poured deep amber/brown in color with a small, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of malts, grains, light skunk, light brown sugar, and slight caramel. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Grain, malt, and slight brown sugar finish.

My 1500th rating in just over 20 months, gee I wonder how much I’ve spent on beer in that time… Clear copper with a medium tan head leaving minor patches of lace. Aroma of skunky grains, malt, maple, nuts and mild darker malts. Taste of malt and burnt caramel with a nasty cola like aftertaste. Thin and bland, not a big fan.

Translucent brown color like advertised. The head fades to nothing and bubbles are absent. A malty initial smell with caramel hints as well. A touch of hops come in the aroma at the end. Taste is sweet and sharp with a b ig malt, it reminds me of a strong sasparilla or root beer.Although its sweet it also displays some mature hops to dry up the beer and counter a big malt sweetness. The palate is juicy and refreshing surprising for a bold malt beer. This is a class brown ale and I like it.
